He is the visionary founder of the Long Beach Indie International Film & Entertainment Festival, a groundbreaking event presented in collaboration with the US Department of Commerce. Dr. Walker’s commitment to innovation and community extends to his roles on the boards of esteemed organizations, including the Heritage Music Foundation, The California Endowment, and the BLU Educational Foundation.
As a dedicated philanthropist, Dr. Walker is deeply engaged in the philanthropic landscape. He serves on the boards of these prestigious organizations, where his expertise and passion converge to drive meaningful change. He’s an influential voice in the investment & finance, audit, and governance committee meetings at The California Endowment, highlighting his profound financial acumen and unwavering commitment to philanthropy.

In recognition of his global contributions to arts, design, and innovation, Dr. Walker was honored with an Honorary Doctorate from the Claremont Graduate University in 2018.
